New Love

Ok, so after driving back to CO, and although I had company which was great, my company was not confident in her abilty to drive a standard H stick shift, so I made the haul myself. Before we left, I told her that her job was to keep me awake by talking to me. Not being overly locquacious, we decided to stop by a book store on the way out of town and buy the audio book of the last Harry Potter book. That would take her off the hook. When seeing the price of that book was a mere $85, we decided to pass on that one. None of the others available really interested me, so we made the trip using lots of music and trivia books.

But, before I left my parents home, I found an audio book that was my grandmother's. I packed it, with only the slight intent of listening to it. I remember now that I brought it in the case that we didn't find one at the book store, but alas buried in the back of the car and subsequently forgot about it..... until I unloaded the car.

Now granted, it's a Danielle Steel novel, but, as I started listening to it, I found myself really enjoying it. In total, it's 6 hours and 5 CD's. I am currently on disc 3 and I listen to it to and from work, the grocery store, to my sister's, and anytime I'm in the car for more than 4 minutes. Sometimes I find when I get home, I turn off the car but keep the battery running and listen a few extra minutes before going in.

So, I found my new companion, in the car that is. Audio books. Perhaps, this will be a long lasting relationship. Or at least on and off often... as I can afford it. :-) Gramma was one smart cookie.
